Menggapai Puncak Mahameru

       Perjalanan ini sebenarnya sudah 2 tahun yang lalu, tetapi saya masih mempunyai sepenggal ingatan untuk di ceritkan dalam Blog ini.

       Perjalanan ini dimulai dari sebuah tawaran bapak saya untuk melakukan sebuah perjalanan ke Semeru. Dengan sedikit pertimbangan dan waktu, saya pun menyetujui tawara tersebut.

Perjalanan ini dimulai pada hari Kamis tepatnya tanggal 27 Juni 2013 yang diikuti oleh 11 orang. Sehari Sebelumnya kami telah melakukan packing bersama, kegiatan ini yaitu mempersiapkan, menata dan mengecek barang-barang yang dibutuhkan dan akan di bawa untu kegiatan camping. Setelah semua telah dipersiapkan, kami beistirahat untuk menyimpan energi. Keeokan harinya, hari Kamis, sebelum kami kami berangkat kami berdoa bersama, sekitar pukul 09.00 dari SMA N 1 Kraksaan, tempat kami berkumpul. Dari Kraksaan, kami menggunakan angkutan umum (colt) menuju Kota Probolinggo yang memakan waktu sekitar 1 jam, sampai di Kota Probolinggo, kami langsung ganti angkutan untuk menuju ke Lumajang, tetap enggunakan angkutan umum (colt). Setelah sekitar 2 jam perjalanan, kami tiba di Lumajang, kami mengganti lagi kendaraan kami dengan menggunakan truk angkut yang sudah dipesan khusus sebelumnya yang akan membawa kami ke kaki gunung semeru. Kenapa kami mengunakan truck? Biasanya, kebanyakan para rombongan pendaki yang akan menuju Semeru akan menggunakan truck, karena selain lebih murah,truck bisa memuat banyak barang dan orang. Di tengah perjalanan, sopir memampirkan kami ke rumahnya untuk istirahat sejenak.

       Setelah sekitar 30 menit beristirahat, perjalanan pun di lanjutkan kembali menuju Ranu Pani (Danau Pani; Ranu=Danau) yang merupakan start dari perjalanan kami yang sesungguhnya menuju puncak Mahameru. Perjalanan menuju ke Ranu Pani memakan waktu sekitar 3 jam. Setelah sapai di sana kami masih harus meminta ijin dari kantor perijinan di sana. Nah, sembari menunggu salah satu teman kami mengurus pendaftaran dan perijinan saya dan yang lainnya memesan bakso sambil menunggu gerimis reda, karena saat itu sedang gerimis. Pendaftarannya cukup lama sekitar 30 menit lebih, karena saat itu sedang ramai, banyak pendaki dari berbagai kota yang juga akan mendaki, jadi kami tidak sendiri.

Setelah selesai mendaftar, perjalanan yang sesungguhnya pun dimulai, perjalanan dimulai sekitar 04.30 sore. Saya, mbak, adik dan bapak saya berangkat dahulu, dan yang lainnya menyusul.

1 kilo meter pertama terasa sangat memberatkan dengan tas yang membebani punggung dan trek yang menanjak di tambah lagi kurangnya latihan fisik sebelumnya. Tetapi setelahnya, saya mulai bisa beradaptasi dengan keadaan. Sekitar 1 jam perjalanan kami sampai di pos pertama, rambongan teman kami yang di belakang belum menyusul. Kami tidak ingin membuang waktu kami dengan percuma, jadi kami tidak berlama-lama disini dan langsung melanjutkan perjalanan kami  ke pos selanjutnya. Sekitar 1,5 jam perjalanan, sekitar pukul 06.30 sore tiba-tiba huja turun,segera saja kami mencari tempat perlindungan, sangat susah mencari tempat perlindungan di tempat seperti ini,tetapi keberuntungan memang selalu ada, kami menemukan sebuah celah,tidah terlalu besar dalamnya tidak sampai 1 meter tetapi masih ada tanaman  diatasnya yang menjadi pelindung. Dalam tempat yang sempit ini kami berempat langsung mengeluarkan jas hujan kami dan memakainya. Setelah sekitar 10 menit menunggu,ternyata rombongan teman kai yang di belakang telah menyusul tanpa menunggu lebih lama lagi, kami langsung melanjutkan perjalanan dalam hujan yang deras. Untung  saja  beberapa menit setelahnya, hujan menjadi gerimis. 30 menit kemudian kami telah sampai di pos 2, Beberapa saat setelah kami sampai, gerimis menjadi hujan yang sangat deras dan berlangsung lama, karena tidak ingin mengambil resiko, kami memutuskan untuk menunggu. Kami tidak menunggu hujan sendiri,karena ada rombongan pendaki lain yang juga berteduh di sini. Sambil menunggu, kami mengisi tenaga kami dengan minuman hangat sambil bertegur sapa denga pendaki dari rombongan lain. Suasana yang tadinya dingin menjadi hangat banyaknya orang dlam pos yang berukuran 3x3.

        Setelah kurang lebih 1 jam menunggu,hujan pun reda, kami semua pun melanjutkan perjalanan. Tetapi perjalanan kami jadi sedikit lebih susah karena jalan yang licin dan berlumpur sehabis hujan,dan juga minimnya pencahayaan yang hanya kami dapat dari senter kami sehingga menyulitkan kita memilih jalan becek,jika kita salah memilih jalan kita akan kita akan terpeleset dan jatuh yang akan membahayakan keselamatan kita. Tetapi semuanya berjalan dengan lancer meskipun sedikit terhambat.

Sekitar pukul 10.00 malam kami sampai di pos 3, kemudian kami beristirahat. Setelah kami cukup beristirahat, kami pun melanjutkan perjalanan. Jalan yang kami lalui saat itu kering, sepertinya hujan tidak sampai di sini, tetapi treknya sangat curam di bandingakan trek sebelumnya. Dari pos 3 tidak terlalu lama da jauh menuju ke pos selanjutnya, sekitar 45 menit, kami sudah sampai di pos 4. Area pos 4 adalah area terbuka, maksudnya tidak tetutupi hutan, jadi di sini kami bisa melihat betapa indahnya taburan bintang yang jarang kami dapat di daerah perkotaan. Pos 4 terletak di Ranu Kumbolo, di sinilah base camp pertama kita, dan kita akan mendirikan tenda di sini. Tetapi karena di are pos 4 sudah banyak pendaki yang mendirikan tenda di sini, jadi kami berjalan sedikit lebih jauh lagi untuk mendapatkan tempat yang lebih dekat dengan danau untuk mendirikan tenda. Sekitar pokul  11.30, kami telah menemukan tempat dan segera mendirikan tenda, setelah itu kami mengganti pakaian,memasak mie dan makan. Tanpa membuang banyak waktu, setelah makan, sekitar pukul 12 malam kami langsung tidur  dalam udara dingin, sehingga pakaian dan selimut tebal yang di pakai terasa tidak mempan mengusir dinginnya udara Semeru, tetapi kantuk dan lelah telah memaksa kami untuk terlelap meskipun dalam udara dingin.
